How to get to St Cere:


Ways of getting here:

1) Fly to Rodez, Limoges, or Toulouse and hire a car.
Approximate drive times:
Rodez (1hr 35m)
Limoges (1hr 45m)
Toulouse (2hrs)
Budget airlines like Easyjet and Ryanair offer very low prices for flights if booked in advance - check their websites from the list of links at the end of this section, below.

2) Fly to Paris and drive, or come by rail (SNCF) from Paris to Bretenoux
The journey from Paris (Gare d'Austerlitz) to Brive and change at Brive for Bretenoux-Biars takes about 5 hrs.
Taxi from Bretenoux-Biars to St Cere 10 mins.
Car hire is also available from Brive railway station if preferred.  Europcar, Hertz and others have offices just across the road from the station.  Book in advance.

3)  Rail from London to Paris then Paris to Bretenoux
The journey from London to Paris (Gare du Nord) takes about 3hrs
Be sure to allow sufficient time between trains in Paris to get from Gare du Nord to Gare d'Austerlitz and to allow for delays (at least 1hr to 1hr 30m)
Paris (Gare d'Austerlitz) to Brive and change at Brive for Bretenoux-Biars takes about 5 hrs
Taxi from Bretenoux to St Cere 10 mins.
Car hire is also available from Brive railway station if preferred. Europcar, Hertz and others have offices just across the road from the station.  Book in advance.

4)  Driving
Drive down A20/N20 and follow signs for St Cere after Brive.

Ferries and tunnel operators offer various deals, it's best to check their websites throughly and compare for the best price.

Notes for those travelling by train:
The last possible train to get you here in time for dinner leaves Paris at around 2pm (Paris to Brive, then Brive to Bretenoux-Biars), arriving Bretenoux-Biars just before 7pm
The local train waits at Brive to connect with the train from Paris, so no need to worry about delays.
Car hire is also available from Brive railway station.  Europcar, Hertz and others have offices just across the road from the station.  Book in advance.
Taxi from Bretenoux-Biars to St Cere will take about 10 minutes. Taxi located at cafe opposite station.  We can put you in touch with other people coming on the Course who are travelling on the same train, making it possible for you to share.
